«Minibie produserer honning under jorda!»

På Khao Sadao sist helg var det plagsomt mange fluer, trodde jeg. De fløy inn i ører, nese og satte seg rundt på kroppen for å få i seg saltholdig væske.

Ved nærmere ettersyn viste det så å være ørsmå bier. De har ikke brodd, eller så er brodden så liten at de ikke klarer å stikke. Disse biene lever i kolonier under jorda og kan samle opp til en halvkilo med honning.

"Groundhandling med nogo attåt i dag!"

 Vinden var grei til å trekke skjerm (trodde jeg). Stod et minutts tid for å kjenne på vindstyrken (det var for kort). La ut skjermen mens vinden pulserte litt (ikke mye, trodde jeg, men var nok for opptatt av liner og diverse). Vingen gikk eksemplarisk opp og stod fint over hodet (syntes jeg). Sola var plagsomt rett i øynene mens skjermen vippet frem og tilbake selv om jeg hadde solbriller. Lurte på om jeg skulle snu meg og vandre over betongdekket (grov, ruglete! betong) som brukes til å tørke tapioka. Det rakk jeg ikke. Plutselig lettet jeg (helt ueksemplarisk) og hang to meter over bakken.  Vinden var ikke lenger min venn. Jeg snurret rundt og fikk litt problemer med å drepe skjermen og ble vel dratt 50 meter bortover før den slo seg til ro. Betongen var absolutt et hardere underlag enn gress!

Hva lærte jeg av dette? Bruk mer tid på å sjekke forholdene. Hvis du har mulighet, velg et mykere underlag enn betong når du skal trekke skjerm. Her i varmen begynner dessuten termikken med sine sprell allerede i 10-tiden når det er sol.

«The Grim Reaper»

has good times these days in the Middle East and other places. Sometimes Atle gets that weird that He is right behind. However, when Atle looks back there is nobody to be seen.

Instead Atle is enjoying what he sees on the road:

A flower in the high mountains which straggles to produce seeds before winter,

a school of small fish in a river cold as ice,

a butterfly blown upwards at 1.800 meters in Norway where there are no flowers,

a transient smile from the lips of a fellow human being,

and all the other small things which make life worthwhile.

New discoveries have to be discussed; are they real or just a slip of someone’s (Atle’s?) mind? It is a well known fact that humans has a tendency to make systems out of almost everything, even when there is not the slightest trace of any connection whatsoever. This is probably due to another well known (and deplorable!/intrigueing) fact - that  humans have a deep and lasting love of following every herd they meet on the road of life. The saying ”Der Führer denkt für uns” does not only go for Germans even if we like to think so. 

Some rumbling down below tells Atle it is time for eating. Does he eat because he all by himself is hungry, or do the bacteriae in his guts tell him it is time for feeding? Have you ever thought about what life or death would be like if bacteriae did not exist? Have a try…

Today quite a few pilots got two flights from Salknappen in spite of showers parts of the day.

Today it is cloudy, wind from W. There will probably be some hours with sun. I guess we will go to takeoff Vole today. Maybe no soaring; this depends on a friendly sun.

On arrival I managed to put up my tent in between the showers. This made me happy... As for today no other comments.

"Nice flight from Hovden, Oppdal"

At the top there was a bit too much wind for a safe takeoff. I waited a while, and then the wind slowed down. Some 40 meters downhill it was OK to unpack the glider. In the air there was more wind than I expected. I guess between 10 and 12 meters a second. When turning in the thermals I went too much beckwards so I made 8 digits in the air. As I was to be in Northern Trøndelag around 5 P.M. I landed after half an hour.

"Too much wind for paragliding in Vågå"

the last days. 10 to 16 meters a second every day. The pilots have left. I am leaving today. The water is rising in Otta due to warm weather (22 degrees at eleven o'clock in night time) and rain. Just now it is 13,5 meters a second on an average of 10 minutes and 20 degrees. Heavy rains is forecasted in the area.

"Mr. Kamol said curriculum improvements would mainly cover the subjects of history and civil duties and they must be ready for implementation in the second semester of 2014.

He also talked about the 2015 operation plan, saying the OBEC would focus on sharpening students’ analytic skills and instilling patriotism, honesty as well as religious principles, and love for the monarchy, in accordance with the policy of the National Council for Peace and Order.

Mr. Kamol also said teachers would be emphasized to improve their teaching techniques, along with ethical principles, and vision."
