Mene Tekel – the Writing on the Wall

needed an interpreter a long time ago, and it seems that is the case nowadays, too.

Ebola – is it serious or not? «The WHO, the UN agency designated with coordinating international response to disease outbreaks, missed chances to prevent Ebola from spreading when it was first diagnosed last spring, thanks to incompetent staff, a lack of information and bureaucracy due to “politically motivated appointments”, the report says. “Nearly everyone involved in the response failed to see some fairly plain writing on the wall,” said the report, obtained by the Associated Press. “A perfect storm was brewing.”»  http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/oct/18/oxfam-call-for-troops-ebola--west-africa-world-health-organisation-accused

Global warming – is it serious or not? Most of us, as individuals, would take action if disaster was imminent, and the writing on the wall was easy to understand. Still the world community and all countries in spite of reports about manmade climate change etc. do almost nothing else than talking. In Norway consumption is predicted to be doubled by 2050.

Bacteria resistance against antibiotics – is it serious or not? The writing on the wall says production of new antibiotics will not cope with bacteriae resistance in the near future. Big Pharma sees no immediate market for the products and will not invest money when not sure of the revenue.

Wars against terrorism, drugs etc – is it serious our not? The writing on the wall says this will go on «for ever». The winners are the arms industry and organized crime.

It seems there is hypocrisy everywhere. Maybe this is homo sapiens sapiens in a nutshell?
