”En times rolig joggetur – to liter svette”

To kilo vekttap!

We often overeat because we need water contained in food. Thirst is often confused with hunger.”
Mye interessant under Consequences of Dehydration http://dehydration.net/2011/consequences-of-dehydration/:
”Diseases caused by dehydration include those attended by pains of different nature. Pain is a desperate request of your body for water. The point is that the reason of occurrence of pain syndrome is acid burns inside the cells. Depending on location of these centres of high acid content pain may occur in different parts of the body. Classical pains are no more than the evidence that acid accumulations need to be cleaned with a big amount of water. These are pains during heartburn, dyspepsia, angina, colitis, as well as rheumatoid, lumbar, fibromyalgic pains and migraine.
Normal condition of the intracellular fluid is a weakly alkaline environment. The point is that the water circulating in the body gets into cells and carries molecules of hydrogen out (and it is just the molecules of hydrogen that determine the acidity level). The body needs to be adequately hydrated so that it will be able to maintain the normal hydrogen ion concentration (or normal pH) equal to 7.4. In dehydration the acid accumulates inside the cells causing burns that provoke pain. If the body is adequately hydrated it keeps the weakly alkaline environment.
Indicator of efficient acid removal is the light colour of urine. If urine is bright yellow or even orange in colour this is an alarm signal of a dangerous dehydration degree.
The first sign that the acid concentration in the body is becoming critical is heartburn pain. This is the way the mucus membrane of the stomach tells that our body needs water.
Pain mechanism is connected directly with increase of histamine production which is the main “witness” of dehydration. When this connection was discovered drug industry immediately began to produce a huge number of antihistamines. However, to relieve pain attacks you don’t need to swallow packages of suprastin; it will be enough to take a glass of clean water. When our body is adequately hydrated the histamine’s activity restricts. Otherwise, the histamine’s activity intensifies that among other things may result in increase of acid production in the stomach. This immediately causes heartburn – the first and the truest indicator of thirst.
Many people think of this pain – the heartburn pain – as a hunger and try to satisfy it by taking antacids or having a snack. As a result, in the first case we put our body in danger as most antacids contain aluminium which causes diseases of nervous system (it is proved that accumulation of aluminium is the body is connected with development of Alzheimer’s disease).
In the other case when we think of the sense of thirst as the sense of hunger we overeat. This is the cause of overweight and disturbances in digestion. These problems persist and even aggravate as the body starts to spend the valuable water on producing of additional quantity of saliva instead of using it for removal of the acid.
As we aren’t used to think of the heartburn as a signal of thirst many of us bring the situation to ulcer of stomach. The ulcer appears in a place of a constant acid burn that cannot be eliminated by additional food.
This pain appears at the first signs of dehydration and may mislead not only a patient but also a doctor who might consider this symptom an indication for diagnostic surgery. In some cases the pain localizes around the appendix and looks like appendicitis. Sometimes it moves to the intestine and looks like colitis. In fact, all these symptoms are indications of dehydration of the body and signals of thirst that our body sends us. In some cases in order to eliminate the pain you need just to drink a glass of water.
Strange as it may seem, bulimia is another manifestation of the sense of thirst. People who suffer from bulimia just cannot distinguish between hunger and thirst. Vomiting that is illustrative of bulimia sufferers is just a defense reaction of the body which cannot cope with excessive food because it doesn’t have enough water to digest it.”

” 1% dehydration leads to thirst.
2% dehydration causes feeling of anxiety, reduced appetite and capacity for work by 20%.
4% dehydration brings feeling of nausea, dizziness, emotional instability, fatigue.
6% dehydration leads to loss of coordination and coherence of speech.
10% dehydration causes thermoregulation failure in addition to all above mentioned symptoms. Cells begin to die.”

·  Tørre slimhinner i munnen.
·  Et matt preg over øynene.
·  Hodepine.

* Folk i høyereliggende
* Idrettsutøvere, særlig de i utholdenhet hendelser som for eksempel maraton, triatlon, og sykling turneringer. Dehydrering kan svekke prestasjoner i idrett, som denne artikkelen forklarer.
* Personer med kroniske sykdommer som diabetes, nyresykdom, cystisk fibrose, alkoholisme, og binyrene lidelser
* Eldre voksne, spedbarn, og barn. Dehydrering hos eldre mennesker kan forklares med hjernen feil, en studie viste. En artikkel beskriver hvordan drikker mer vann bedre helsen til eldre.”

”Enduring Freedom – forever and forever”

In Afghanistan some children are toiling collecting firewood for cooking the evening meal. They work hard, and they are sweating. The blazing sun is hot, and they wish they were in the shadow of the grey concrete building near by.

Eventually they move closer and closer to to the building and ends up sitting in the shade. What kind of building is this? They do not know, and they will never know.

Up in the sky, above the few scattered clouds, a silver aircraft makes it way towards the targets of the day. The pilot pushes a button, the aircraft shakes a bit, and the smoke of the missile points downwards.

The children hear nothing when everything around them disintegrates. They are freed from their daily chores in the blazing sun. They will never know and will never experience that this is, for them, what enduring freedom is about…

”Do we see a change in the role of the UN?”

If the UN in the future will act to protect civilians against atrocities committed by political leaders, then the role of the UN has changed. This might be a first step towards a world not only ruled by national law but also by a set of laws based on The Human Rights and the rulings of the international court in Haag.

If the political leaders can risk to be indicted, arrested, and sentenced to many years in jail if they commit atrocities against their ”own” population or other populations, this will be a major breakthrough for civil rights worldwide.

For the leaders of many countries this would be a disaster, e.g. nations like Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Yemen, Iran, Russia, China, North Korea, White Russia, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan just to mention a few. Even the leaders of the USA and Norway would have to think if their actions to fight terrorism are legal actions or not.

If we look back at history as we know it from thousands of years ago and up to now, the population of the world has suffered from the vile actions av leaders of various kinds, religious, military etc.

A set of laws and effective rulings of an international court some time in the future would curb vile actions of political leaders.

If you want to get more facts, you can go on reading:

”For the first time in two decades, the United Nations Security Council authorized a no-fly zone resolution.  The Security Council adopted Resolution 1973 and approved “all necessary measures” to protect Libyan civilians who are under attack by the Moammar Gaddafi government.
Of the 15 Security Council members, 10 agreed and five abstained.  Bosnia, Colombia, France, Gabon, Lebanon, Nigeria, Portugal, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States voted in favor.  Brazil, China, Germany, India and Russia abstained from voting.” http://www.helium.com/items/2120894-united-nations-libya-resolution

”17 March 2011 –
The Security Council today effectively authorized the use of force in Libya to protect civilians from attack, specifically in the eastern city of Benghazi, which Colonel Muammar Al-Qadhafi has reportedly said he will storm tonight to end a revolt against his regime.
Acting under Chapter VII of the UN Charter, which provides for the use of force if needed, the Council adopted a resolution by 10 votes to zero, with five abstentions, authorizing Member States “to take all necessary measures… to protect civilians and civilian populated areas under threat of attack in the Libyan Arab Jamhariya, including Benghazi, while excluding an occupation force.”
The abstentions included China and Russia, which have the power of veto, as well as Brazil, Germany and India.” http://www.un.org/apps/news/story.asp?NewsID=37808&Cr=libya&Cr1=

The full text of the resolution you can read here http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs//2011/sc10200.doc.htm or below:

The full text of resolution 1973 (2011) reads as follows:

“Reiterating the responsibility of the Libyan authorities to protect the Libyan population and reaffirming that parties to armed conflicts bear the primary responsibility to take all feasible steps to ensure the protection of civilians,

“Condemning the gross and systematic violation of human rights, including arbitrary detentions, enforced disappearances, torture and summary executions,

“Further condemning acts of violence and intimidation committed by the Libyan authorities against journalists, media professionals and associated personnel and urging these authorities to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law as outlined in resolution 1738 (2006),

“Considering that the widespread and systematic attacks currently taking place in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya against the civilian population may amount to crimes against humanity,

“Recalling paragraph 26 of resolution 1970 (2011) in which the Council expressed its readiness to consider taking additional appropriate measures, as necessary, to facilitate and support the return of humanitarian agencies and make available humanitarian and related assistance in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya,

“Deploring the continuing use of mercenaries by the Libyan authorities,

“Considering that the establishment of a ban on all flights in the airspace of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya constitutes an important element for the protection of civilians as well as the safety of the delivery of humanitarian assistance and a decisive step for the cessation of hostilities in Libya,

“Expressing concern also for the safety of foreign nationals and their rights in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya,

“Welcoming the appointment by the Secretary General of his Special Envoy to Libya, Mr. Abdul Ilah Mohamed Al-Khatib and supporting his efforts to find a sustainable and peaceful solution to the crisis in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya,

“Reaffirming its strong commitment to the sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and national unity of the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya,

“Determining that the situation in the Libyan Arab Jamahiriya continues to constitute a threat to international peace and security,

Ideell temperatur for litt intervallkjøring.

Sikkert mer enn 50 grader i sola.

men bare nesten.

”…. So help me God”

The oath of office of the American President is this: ”I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_office_of_the_President_of_the_United_States

”The option of taking an oath or an affirmation

Franklin Pierce was the only president known to use the word affirm rather than swear. Theodore Roosevelt did not use a Bible when taking the oath in 1901. Dwight D. Eisenhower, Harry S. Truman, and Richard Nixon swore the oath on two Bibles. John Quincy Adams swore on a book of law.[4] Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in on a Roman Catholic missal on Air Force One. Washington kissed the Bible afterwards,[5] and subsequent presidents followed suit, up to Harry Truman,[6] but Dwight D. Eisenhower broke that tradition by saying his own prayer instead of kissing the Bible.[7]” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_office_of_the_President_of_the_United_States

All presidents since Franklin D. Roosevelt have used the phrase ”So help me God”

During our lifetimes, either we are you or me or people in power, we face moral issues when we have to choose. Sometimes we choose wrong, sometimes we choose right. Right or wrong – that is our responsibility. When you swear an oath and use the phrase ”So help me God”, I would expect you to ask God if He would approve your choice if you, when you are in office, are in doubt concerning moral and other issues.

I AM THINKING ABOUT WATERBOARDING AND OTHER ENHANCED INTERROGATON TECHNIQUES.
After The Second World War ”The United States hanged Japanese soldiers for waterboarding American prisoners of war.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterboarding

BUT SOMETHING, EVIDENTLY, MUST HAVE CHANGED SINCE THAT TIME:
”The CIA sources described a list of six "Enhanced Interrogation Techniques" instituted in mid-March 2002 and used, they said, on a dozen top al Qaeda targets incarcerated in isolation at secret locations on military bases in regions from Asia to Eastern Europe. According to the sources, only a handful of CIA interrogators are trained and authorized to use the techniques:
1. The Attention Grab: The interrogator forcefully grabs the shirt front of the prisoner and shakes him.
2. Attention Slap: An open-handed slap aimed at causing pain and triggering fear.
3. The Belly Slap: A hard open-handed slap to the stomach. The aim is to cause pain, but not internal injury. Doctors consulted advised against using a punch, which could cause lasting internal damage.
4. Long Time Standing: This technique is described as among the most effective. Prisoners are forced to stand, handcuffed and with their feet shackled to an eye bolt in the floor for more than 40 hours. Exhaustion and sleep deprivation are effective in yielding confessions.
5. The Cold Cell: The prisoner is left to stand naked in a cell kept near 50 degrees.  [10 degrees C] Throughout the time in the cell the prisoner is doused with cold water.
6. Water Boarding: The prisoner is bound to an inclined board, feet raised and head slightly below the feet. Cellophane is wrapped over the prisoner's face and water is poured over him. Unavoidably, the gag reflex kicks in and a terrifying fear of drowning leads to almost instant pleas to bring the treatment to a halt.
According to the sources, CIA officers who subjected themselves to the water boarding technique lasted an average of 14 seconds before caving in. They said al Qaeda's toughest prisoner, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, won the admiration of interrogators when he was able to last between two and two-and-a-half minutes before begging to confess.
"The person believes they are being killed, and as such, it really amounts to a mock execution, which is illegal under international law," said John Sifton of Human Rights Watch.” http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/Investigation/story?id=1322866

PRESIDENT OBAMA IS STILL AGAINST ENHANCED INTERROGATION. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/Investigation/story?id=1322866  IF THAT IS TRUE, IT IS TIME THAT HE TAKES STEPS TO PROSECUTE FORMER PRESIDENT BUSH AND THOSE WHO EXECUTED ENHANCED INTERROGATION.

I am 100 % sure that God would not have approved enhanced interrogation. For President Bush to have used the phrase ”So help me God” is sacriledge (Norwegian: helligbrøde) and blasphemy (Norwegian: gudsbespottelse).

President Obama used the same phrase. I am 100 % sure that God would approve if he took legal actions as mentioned above. Maybe President Obama would lose the next election because of this, but he would live on in history as one of the great American presidents.

Det bør gå greit å lande her.
