On Sunday there were inversions in the morning. Later it was possible to go to cloudbase which in the afternoon rose to more than 3.000 m asl. New national best in Thailand by Mitsuharu Koga with 226.5 km.
As for myself I found a very strong thermal just after takeoff 3 of the day. On an average of 60 seconds I went up with almost 10 meters a second to cloudbase under a mediumsized cloud. The temperature was more than 40 degrees. I went up more than 2.000 meters in a few minutes. I have never been in a thermal strong like this. It was not very turbulent even if I stayed in the upwind core of the thermal. Interesting.
