”If a lie is repeated many times by multitudes of people, it is transformed to truth”

Atle warns the reader of these lines that this is a follow-up of the preceding ”It is not illegal to be stupid, ignorant and a nitwit!” Beware, beware!

That lies become truths is a ubiquitous phenomenon. In Atle’s opinion at least. One well-known example of this is the popular, and it seems everlasting, political slogan: Liberté. Egalité, Fraternité” or ”Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood.” It has been fed to the masses in numerous revolutions, and it never fails to arouse revolutionary sentiments (France in 1789, Russia in 1917, China in 1949). The fact that the ideals are usually ravaged, even before the upheaval of the old regimes, does not matter. ”It is not illegal to be stupid, ignorant and a nitwit!” You have to wonder how this mayhem and carnage can go on and on and on…

You find remnants of the infamous slogan in constitutions and laws all over the world. Not too different from the show windows and displays in department stores. Behind lurks a reality that is different as is the case in the USA, Russia, China, ……., and in Norway.

Then you have the religious realm, which in Atle’s opinion is a rat’s nest of lies. Christianity, Islam, Hinduism – same lies, same shit. In short this is insanity in disguise. But have in mind ”It is not illegal to be stupid, ignorant and a nitwit!” (And beware that this probably goes for Atle, too…)

Adolph Hitler summed up the craze: ”Ein Führer, ein Volk, ein Reich.” Contemporary Nazis exclaimed ”Der Führer denkt führ uns” and similar brainless exclamations (or excretions which is a more accurate description when the brain has closed down). Religous, political and other leaders behave in much the same way, showing a numbness of the cerebral part of the body.

Times have changed, but people have not changed very much for thousands of years. Peel away the veils of  civilization, education and whatever cloaks people put on, and we are helpless creatures who huddle together to feel safe and comfortable in nations, religions and whatever can help us feel we are more than just somebody/anybody/nobody.

Period.
